Congratulations to GLA 2019 Scholarship Recipients!
Glendale Latino Association provides annual scholarships to local high schools and Glendale Community College graduating students who have demonstrated educational excellence and extraordinary citizenship. The organization brings together business and professionals to promote activities that improve education system.
On May 23, 2019 at our annual breakfast we gave 15 scholarships totaling $20,000 to excelling students from Crescenta Valley High School, Glendale Community College, Holy Family High School, and Hoover High School.
Fundraisers are held throughout the year to raise funds for the scholarships. The board reflects the diverse business community enjoyed by Glendale and the surrounding areas, and includes Albert Hernandez with Family Promise of the Verdugos, Miryam Finkelberg with the Law Offices of Finkelberg & Finkelberg, Jennie Quinonez- Skinner a Librarian at CSUN, Irma Villegas with Coldwell Banker Hallmark Realty, Darlene M. Sanchez of the Glendale Economic Development Corporation, Daniel Cabrera a retired Educator, Amy Navarrete with Ballet Folklorico Mexico Azteca, Nelson A. Castillo with the Castillo Law Firm, Marisol Chianello with the Learning Rights Law Center, J. Guillermo Garcia with the City of Glendale Library, Arts & Culture, Victor Garcia, Jr. a GLA Scholarship Recipient, Alicia Tamayac with Bella Guatemala Travel, Jasmine Venegas-Goulet with Glendale Youth Alliance. The organization was founded in 1990 and since then has worked to both improve and to make a difference in the community.

The scholarship application deadline for 2020 is:
- March 23, 2020
- Letters of Recommendation, Personal Essays, Official Academic Transcripts & FAFSA Student Aid Reports (SAR) must all be submitted by the deadline

Scholarship Awards Breakfast: Awardees will be expected to attend our event scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 7:30 a.m.
