Remembering the March 1968 Chicana/o Student Walkouts: Seeking Educational Justice

Wednesday, March 17, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The walkouts are a defining feature of the Chicana/o civil rights movement, and they speak to the ongoing struggle for educational access and equity regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or nationality. We must appreciate the historical contributions of the students in 1968 who protested for equity in the face of unyielding public schools, law enforcement, and government.

Featuring Guest Speaker: Carlos Manuel Haro, PhD., UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, Assistant Director Emeritus, Postdoctoral Scholar in Residence.
