2017 GLA Scholarship Awards Breakfast Recipients

Congratulations to our 2017 scholarship recipients!

Thank you to all that attended the Glendale Latino Association Scholarship Awards Breakfast! You honored us with your presence.

On Thursday,  May 18th GLA awarded $20,000 in scholarships to 15 excelling Latino students from Crescenta Valley High School, Glendale Community College, Herbert Hoover High School, and Holy Family High School. We applaud you for your academic accomplishments, leadership, and community service. These students have showed us that our future is in good hands. They are scholars, athletes, leaders, and good citizens. To the class of 2017, we wish you great success in the next phase of your life! You are all shinning stars!

A special recognition was given to Elizabeth Marquez from the Community Foundation of the Verdugos for her service, dedication, and the coordination of the student’s scholarships process.

Thank you to our “Partners in Giving” – Art & Paula Devine, Carlos & Cloris Carrillo, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Massage Envy Glendale, GCC Chief of Police Gary Montecuollo, and Sadd Velazquez Higashi Shammaa for collaborating with GLA with your generous scholarships.

Thank you to our sponsors, donors, and the many friends of GLA for their contributions and donations. Your commitment and financial support made this possible. Thank you to our guest speaker, past GLA scholarship recipient Victor Garcia for his inspiring message.

Thank you all for making our scholarship awards breakfast successful.

Miryam E. O. Finkelberg, Glendale Latino Association President, 2017
